In 1995, the 17-year-old Nepali arrived in China. Just like many other foreigners, the moment he got off the plane, Bista was surprised to find that Chinese people were not all wearing a bamboo straw hat or dressed in green or blue tunic suit. Life in China was much more colorful and very different to stereotyped images.
He has engaged in education since 2000. In 2004, he began teaching at Baoying High School, established in 1928 in Baoying County of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province. After more than one decade of teaching, Bista said he was deeply impressed by the progress in education in the province and the country.
“When I got off the plane in 1995, I went to a police box and wanted to make a phone call there. I speak standard English, but people there couldn’t understand me at all. I tried with hand language and finally they called a taxi for me,” said Bista百家樂,, adding now more and more people around can speak English and foreigners will face no such awkward situation after 23 years.
As a heavy smoker, Bista said he used to share a cigarett美容養顏,e when meeting his acquaintance in the past. But he found that now few people have this kind of greeting because they know smoking is bad for their own health and the health of other people. “People in Jiangsu have changed their mind and they pay more attention to health,” said Bista.
In April 2015, a magnitude-8.1 earthquake struck Bista’s hometown of Kathmandu, Nepal, which caused cracks 真人21點,on the main building of the orphanage near his house, endangered the nearby office building responsible for looking after poor children, and also brought down the house of a disabled university student working in his house. Knowing these sufferings, Bista said he was sleepless for two nights.

After reading news that some overseas Nepali students raised fund for the earthquake relief, Bista’s wife suggested him to follow suit.
"I am very grateful to the people of Jiangsu for their help. I will go all out to help China if needed." In his spare time, Bista is an active volunteer. He said that he has gained friendship and happiness in China and he wants to pass on the happiness to others.
